This vinegar has a rich tamarind flavor - tangy, deep, sweet
(with caramel notes) and slightly savory. It makes a delicious beverage
when mixed with club soda, but can also be used in all manner of
cocktails, sauces, or other recipes.
Som drinking vinegars are the creation of James Beard Award-winning
Portland chef Andy Ricker. These handmade refreshment concentrates are
sweeter than conventional vinegars, but more tart than most sodas.
Their mouthwatering bite is the perfect way to relax on a hot summer day
or after a long shift at work.
Water, cane sugar, natural palm vinegar, tamarind, citric acid, salt.
Refrigerate after opening.
Note: Any sediment or cloudiness in the bottle is a natural byproduct of the crafting process and not cause for concern.
Som tamarind drinking vinegar can be mixed with chilled sparkling water or club soda to make a refreshing beverage. Four parts soda to 1 part drinking vinegar is recommended, but you may find different proportions suit your personal taste.
It also can be used as an ingredient in more complex non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, sauces, glazes, marinades, etc.
Pair tamarind drinking vinegar with flavors like coconut, mango, banana, fish sauce, palm or coconut sugar, lime, star anise, ginger, turmeric, pork, thai chilies, seafood, chicken or duck.
