Orgeat syrup (pron. Or-zhat) is a traditional French almond syrup made from almonds, sugar, and a floral essence (either rose water or orange blossom water). It is called for in several cocktail recipes from Mai Tais to the cognac-based Japanese Cocktail. It’s an essential ingredient in tiki drinks and some cocktails based on absinthe.
Orgeat’s use isn’t exclusive to cocktails however, it can also be used to add the floral, nutty aroma & flavor of almonds to non-alcoholic drinks and dessert recipes too.
It’s common for orgeat syrups on the market to be packed with artificial ingredients, but this orgeat is merely filled with flavor. Small Hand Foods produces their top shelf orgeat using a blend of California almonds and apricot kernels, resulting in a clean marzipan-esque flavor without the use of extracts or artificial flavorings.
Ingredients: Water, organic cane sugar, almonds, organic lemon juice, brandy, orange blossom water (distilled water, orange blossoms), apricot kernels. Contains tree nuts.
Made in a facility that processes peanuts, tree nuts, wheat and dairy products.
