These organic house crickets are raised on an indoor family farm in Canada, expressly for human consumption, on a diet of certified organic feed (corn, soybeans, flax, oats, vitamins & minerals). They are then cleaned & roasted before being packaged for you to enjoy, ready to eat right out of the bag, grind into cricket flour, or incorporate whole in recipes.
Crickets have a protein content ranging from 60-70%, with more calcium than milk, more iron than spinach, and twenty times more vitamin B12 than beef (by volume). Crickets have what is considered an ideal Omega 3 to 6 ratio of 1:3.
Insects may be the food of the future. They’re nutritious, easy to farm, and use much fewer resources than conventional sources of protein like beef or soy.
Note: If you are allergic to shellfish, you might also be allergic to these close cousins.
