Grains of paradise are best ground before use, and pair well with lemon, cinnamon, cloves, potatoes, eggplants, and lamb
(particularly in Moroccan tagines). They can be infused into a variety
of different alcoholic beverages (historically most often wine or
beer), and can be used in spiced fruit desserts (particularly those
involving peaches or plums)
They can also be used similarly to black peppercorns in most dishes, imparting a hotter flavor with pine notes.
